Conlanging:

"Conlangs" are artificially designed languages. "Conlanging" is the hobby of designing conlangs. Conlangs include artlangs (languages designed purely for aesthetic purposes, such as Tolkien's Quenya), auxlangs (languages designed to become international auxiliary languages, such as Esperanto), languages designed to demonstrate or explore philosophical concepts, and languages designed to test or explore linguistic theories. I am an artlanger.

Conlangs may also be divided into a posteriori (those derived, often through historical sound changes, from natural languages or "natlangs") and a priori (those which are entirely fictional). My conlangs cover both categories. My conlangs also all attempt to immitate naturalism or realism - this is very common among artlangs. They are thus written as formal grammars and lexicons, and reading them may in places require some linguistics background.
